A protest of two

It was Tonya and me and three signs. We never saw Mr. Kibodeaux, whose trial may have been postponed. Not a single member of the media showed up, which in view of our shrinking representation is understandable. However, both Tonya's and my time parading was worth it.

Other than the usual court house traffic of lawyers, prostitutes, low lives, and subspecies, there were three large waves of average looking people entering the building. These turned out to be unfortunate citizens selected for jury duty. With nothing else to do while they waited, they all read our signs.

I arrived at 7:30 and Tonya after 8:00 AM. We stayed until 10:30 AM, keeping the BARC acronym associated with "animal abuse" and "broken system" for those who walked by and can read or give a damn. Time well spent.

Personally, I think that "visibility" is every bit as important as emails and calls. We could organize a dog-walk around City Hall, with better signs than we've had until now, and keep the pot stirred, especially while Fusco's contract is discussed. It is more important now than ever to keep our views on parade, lest City Hall thinks we are getting tired ... as today seems to indicate.

C'mon people! Innocent animals are being hurt; they're dying alone, forgotten ... They have nothing but us, and today they didn't have much, but it was better than nothing. -- Dolores
