Fellow animal advocates:
With due respect to my dear Chinese acquaintances and to members of the Chinese Companion Animals Protection Network, I would like to state the obvious as others have before … to no avail:
(1) China commits more cruelty against animals –no species is spared- than any other country in the world. (2) China floods America with cheap, inferior products, taking jobs away from Americans who do not skin dogs alive, eat the brains of live baby monkeys, and other such atrocities. http://buyhard.net46.net/animalcruelty.htm
Is it too much to ask that YOU read the label of each and every product you buy and leave it on the counter if it's “Made in China?” Then call the manager and demand, as a customer, that they offer American products?
There will always be a market for “Made in China” among WalMartians, hunters, and people who can’t find China on a map and proud of it, but people evolved enough to care about what happens to other animals should have higher shopping standards.
Chinese people understandably resent the West’s wagging of angry fingers against their execrable practices. But why change the ways of millennia? “You’re buying our junk and we’re buying America; go to hell” they reason.
One wishes that the Chinese themselves could hear the animals' screams for what they are. Many individuals there probably do and suffer in silence. But as a nation they are impervious to what revolts even hardened Western criminals. So we, not they, are left to ponder the words of the Mahatma Gandhi, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” Just buy American and spread the word.
