Sounds good, especially concerning the Corridor of Cruelty. But then, it could be just electoral speak. It's easy for a political candidate to say the right things, but unless one is committed to animal welfare at a personal level -- i.e., almost like we are -- the enormity of this city's growing problems will keep BARC in it's "afterthought" category for whoever the elected Major happens to be.
It's not what Locke, Parker, Morales, or Brown say now to become Major, but whether their background (interests, charities, associations, etc.) indicates that at least one of them "may" mean it. To date in Houston, the best way to make educated choices re running politicos and their stand on animal issues is noahsarkpac.blogspot.com (those of you cc'd in this email MUST check it out). But again, what they say and what they will do ... There is no way to hold them up to their promises once elected, but at least we can yell "You lie!"
Could it be any worse than Mayor White!? -- Dolores
